4th in the national 10! I'm delighted with that as my aim was a good top 10. Although I wasn't going to threaten the podium, to finish ahead of the likes of Steven Burke - an Olympic gold medalist and world champion - was quite a surprise. It was also my first sub-20 minute ride ...more
Well it was definitely 'National' with a 500mile round trip, but we weren't the champs...
The good: my power was great, best ever at the National 10. I got the physical prep (training) just right. Really happy with that. Ran some awesome new equipment & kit from our sponsors - Simon and Natalie (D2Z and Smart) have been working long ...more
A great weekend was had in Norfolk competing in the 1st of the years National Championships on a nice quiet, rider friendly circuit. Finally got some racing miles in my legs yesterday. I didn't know whether they'd be enjoyable miles as it was raining hard during the day, but the showers miraculously cleared for the evening event on the Levens course (L1015) at the Southern coast of the Lake District, leaving just a gusty crosswind to fight with.
On Saturday afternoon, www.Drag2zero.com's Matthew Bottrill took part in the South Pennine 25 mile time trial. With torrential rain and hailstorms it was a really hard day for all the riders that had assembled to take part and only 34 finished.
