It's not every day you get to race against an Olympic gold medalist, even in a friendly competition. So when DBMax, the organisers of the 9Bar Chilly Duathlon at Castle Combe, asked me to form part of a relay team going up against a Team 9Bar duo featuring Ed Clancy, I jumped at the chance.

It's been a hard few days for drag2zero's Matthew Bottrill. In the early hours of Saturday morning, Matt lost his grandad, who he was really close to. Matt and his grandad lived just 200 metres away from each other and his grandad supported Matt's racing by looking after the kids and baby sitting when needed.
